In what ways does your film media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The genre of my film is an action film so i took a look at opening sequences from action movies such as Sherlock Holmes and aimed for a movie like that but with my own twist.
My film meets some of the key features of the action genre for example my film contains chase scenes loud music with a heavy bass beat and violence.
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The characters in my film fall into stereotypes, for example the main character 'Agent11' is a mysterious man with a sealed black leather folder and this makes the audience curious on what is kept inside and what he is protecting. The 2 other characters also fall into a stereotype of bad guys in the way they are dressed and how they act, they are wearing hoodies and jeans like 'thugs' typically dress and they chase the main character and get fought off by him. I aimed for these stereotypes when I was planning my film.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The kind of institution that might distribute my film would be a TV based company such as BBC films or Film4 this is because they are a know company for making low budget British films like four lions (Film4) and Billy Elliot (BBC Films).
But on the other hand my film is a action/spy film so i think that Eon Productions would be a suitable production company and Sony Pictures International would be a good distributors these were the companies that produced and distributed Sky Fall.
Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for my media product would be British and American males between the ages of 17-40, who enjoyed the James Bond film series because my film is a action film and it contains chase scenes, violence and music with a loud bass sounds in it and a high majority of British and American males enjoy action movies.
How did you attract/address your audience?
I addressed my audience with the use of loud music with a heavy hitting bass beat that gives the audience a feel of adrenaline. The chase scene and fighting in the film also give the sense of adrenaline and that's what British and American males between the ages of 17-40 want the sense of adrenaline and action.
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
At the beginning of the course i had never used a Mac, iMovie, Blogger or a camcorder, so throughout the course I have learnt, with the help of my teacher and fellow students, how to work these technologies and use them effectively to make my media product and I can now make an advanced blog without making mistakes.
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Looking back to my preliminary task I have progressed with my planning also my skill using a camcorder and iMovie because I used iMovie to edit together my final movie and i had to remove the sound from the clip, use transitions, add in a sound track and add text to my film. These are all skills that I have gained while making and editing my film.
